Rubber Plant 'Ficus elastica'

The Ficus Elastica or commonly known as a 'rubber tree' is a great plant for just about any room. This plant offers low maintenance colour to any home or office and with time will grow into a very decent indoor tree. This rubber tree boasts beautiful leaves in a range of colours and can be a great contrast to accompany your other indoor green leafy plants.

Light

This plant will like a medium to high level of indoor, indirect sunlight. Direct sun may burn the leaves.

Water

Let this plant dry out between waterings. Feeling the soil approximately an inch and half deep to check the moisture level, if it is wet leave it a few more days, if it's dry give your plant a water. Make sure your plant pot has good drainage and is not sitting in any water.

Maintenance

Wipe the leaves with a damp cloth occasionally to remove the dust that accumulates on the leaves to support photosynthesis, very dusty leaves can't absorb sunlight.

Botanical name: Ficus elastica, varieties include tineke, burgundy, green.
