Make Your Own Socks with Tash Jones
Tash Jones' favourite project to have on her needles, is socks. Whether she stripes them, keeps them solid or plays with a bit of fairIsle, her socks are always full of colour. Cosy and comfortable knitted in a merino/cashmere yarn, which leave all other socks for dead!
In this workshop you will learn lots of new and simple techniques to knit your own socks. You will learn a new cast on/cast off method, knitting in the round and short rows. There's a real sense of achievement to completing your first pair of socks. And once you start you don’t ever stop.
To participate in this workshop you need to have basic knitting skills - cast on, cast off, plain stitch (commonly know as knit stitch) and purl stitch.
Please bring 2.25mm circular 80cm long needles or can be purchsed on the day for approx $14.
All other tools, materials and morning tea will be provided.
Date and time:
Saturday 19th of August, 10:30am - 2:00pm (and)
Saturday 26th of August, 10:30am - 2:00pm
This workshop runs over two weekends, please make sure you are available for both sessions.
Tash Jones is a Fremantle local who comes from a long family line of knitters and stitchers. Growing up, she remembers sitting watching her Grandmother knit baby clothes for new family members, and eventually pass on the joy of knitting to her. Tash is passionate about sharing her Grandmother's knowledge with like minded folk in her workshops.
