Woven Weeds with Siân Boucherd
An exploration of locally sourced fibres, learn how to forage for and responsibly remove problem plants, in this workshop with fibre artist Siân Boucherd.
You will spend the session applying various basketry techniques to create your own unique hanging basket using pre-dried, prepared and collected weeds.
No prior skills required but if you are good with your hands and want to play and learn some new tricks, this workshop is perfect for you.
Weaving is a wonderfully meditative practice that allows you to unplug, slow down and craft something with your own hands.
This workshop is perfect for those just starting out as well as those with some experience who want to expand on their skills in a constructive and creative community environment.
All tools, materials and morning tea will be provided.

Siân Boucherd is a fibre artist specialising in basket weaving. Following the completion of her Art and Design Degree 2007, Sian has worked across many aspects of the arts, including a stint curating Land Art projects in ancient woodlands of Kent, UK. Sian continues to explore the natural environment through her studio practice and the delivery of weaving workshops.
