Nested hanging baskets with Anna Macoboy

Join Anna Macoboy of Wilding Studio and learn the contemporary technique of random weaving to create your own hanging basket with natural or dyed cane. Add foraged natural elements to build upon your base structure until you finish with a beautiful sculptural hanging basket.

The basket will suit a variety of pot sizes and will be completed with a chain for hanging, plus optional coconut fibre. You will also get to take home a plant of your choice in a 120mm pot to finish off your creation. There will be a variety of common, easy-care plants to choose from.

All tools, materials and morning tea will be provided.

About Anna

Anna is a plant and floral designer and educator who is passionate about creating wild and beautiful designs with nature. Her work is influenced by the Japanese concept of wabi-sabi, which can be described as an appreciation of the imperfections and transience of natural beauty. Anna is dedicated to spreading plant knowledge and design techniques and has taught workshops at dozens of locations in Australia and the USA, including the New York Botanical Garden, Chelsea Garden Center and the Japan Society of New York. She has been experimenting with various techniques for making hand-woven baskets for ten years.
