Join us in the Stackwood warehouse this festive season and learn all about the fun and contemporary technique of random weaving.
A perfect staff or group activity to encourage community, engagement and a slow down in this busy season.
You'll create your own mini woven basket from custom dyed cane and foraged natural fibres. Baskets will range from 10-20cm in diameter, with the possibility of adding a handle.
Your basket can be used to hold small objects, or you'll be able to line it with preserved moss for a sweet sculptural art piece.
All tools and materials will be provided in this fun, hands-on workshop.
Other dates available on request including select weekends.

About our artist
Anna Macoboy is a multi-disciplinary creative with a passion for plants. She has studied botany and worked with indoor plants for over a decade. She also practices random weaving, floristry and other art practices that explore the connection between design and nature and the concept of wabi-sabi. Anna is a co-owner of Stackwood and spends most of her days taking care of the plants here or sharing her knowledge through plant-based workshops. She has taught workshops in a range of topics at dozens of locations in Australia and the USA, including the New York Botanical Garden, Chelsea Garden Center and the Japan Society of New York.
About Stackwood
Stackwood has been hosting a thriving series of workshops for the past 7 years in their ex-diesel mechanics warehouse, turned coffee, plant and creative haven.
Learning new skills is an important part of what drives us. Whether it be plant-care knowledge passed on by our nursery experts or face-to-face classes with one of our favourite local artists, we couldn't think of anything better to put energy towards. Learning to make or do something slows us down, encourages presence in the moment and cultivates a more mindful way of living.
We know you and your team will love slowing down and working with their hands this festive season to create a functional piece for their home that they will love.
