Ceramic mugs with Sally from Deep Earth Ceramics

$159.00

Join local Walyalup (Fremantle) ceramicist Sally Smith from Deep Earth Ceramics and learn all about the fun and meditative craft of slab building to create your own set of mugs. With dark stoneware clay you'll learn to assemble from a starting slab. Sally will guide you through any tweaks so you can customise the design of your works.

You'll have time to make 2-3 mugs in this hands-on workshop.

All tools, materials and light morning tea will be provided. There are no previous skills required, simply bring your authentic self. Participants are welcome to bring along their own aprons or borrow one of ours.

Takeaway

  • Time in our warehouse with an incredible local artist
  • A collection of handcrafted mugs to use and enjoy every day
  • Tea and cake from our cafe to enjoy while you are crafting

Important details

Your piece will be glazed and fired at Sally's studio. Cost included in your ticket. A huge amount of care is exercised when finishing off your precious hand-made items. Please note that clay is unpredictable and on rare occasions, items break in the kiln. This is all a natural part of the fun of perfecting your craft.

All mugs will be dishwasher and microwave safe.

Works will be available within ~5-6 weeks of the class date from the Stackwood store. You will be contacted when they are ready to pick up.

Please note: We can hold your artworks for a period of 4 months from the date of your workshop. After this time, any unclaimed pieces will unfortunately be discarded.
We kindly ask that you collect your artwork promptly!

About Sally

Sally Smith discovered clay when she was just 5 years old. Since that day she has travelled many creative paths and all have brought her back to her first love; clay as a vehicle for expression. From her Stackwood studio, Sally creates unique pieces with emotional authenticity, preferring essential beauty over conventional perfection. Most importantly her work is made with love and designed for use each and every day.
