We can organise you a private workshop with one of our talented facilitators for your own event or personal catch-up.


We host hens parties, birthdays and corporate retreats for those who want something a little different. You and your co-crafters can unwind and learn a new skill in our green warehouse surrounds, plus take home a treasured item that you have made with your own hands.  You'll have our facilitators and event space all to yourself!

Ceramic Bowls & Spoons

Get messy and join us under the warehouse roof for a few hours of creative play, trying your hand at the beautiful art of pottery.

What's included:
- 3 hours tuition with Lucy from Not Yet Perfect 
- Use of the Stackwood event space, with workshop pre-set for you
- Clay, tools and materials to make up to 4 pieces of your choice (bowls, planters, pots)
- You'll have your pieces finished and fired by Lucy, and they'll be ready to collect in the weeks following your workshop. They'll be finished in Lucy's signature white glaze.

Class cost: 5 - 9 people $235 per person, 10 - 14 people $145 per person, 15+ $115 per person

Woven Wall Hangings

Create a beautiful woven wall hanging for your home on a simple handloom. Learn about the weaving process and various simple techniques. 

What's included:
- 4.5 hours tuition with Phoebe from Sunday Weaves
- Use of the Stackwood event space, with workshop pre-set for you
- Tools and materials to make your wall hanging
- Your own loom to take home (valued at $50) so you can keep making 

Class cost: 5 - 9 people $225 per person, 10 - 14 people $140 per person, 15+ $115 per person

Jewellery Making

Learn to hand build and glaze your very own ceramic earrings. This workshop requires two sessions (both of which are included in the price!) in which you'll build and glaze your very own pieces.

What's included:
- 5 hours tuition with Jess form Wood Meets Clay
- Use of the Stackwood event space, with workshop pre-set for you
- Tools, materials and firing make and glaze your earrings
- Take home up to 5 sets of earrings with sterling silver findings  

Class cost: 5 - 9 people $239 per person, 10 - 14 people $149 per person, 15+ people $115 per person

Elkhorn Mounting

Learn about this fabulous fern and make your own mounted Elkhorn trophy in this dynamic hands-on workshop. Be guided through the process of preparing your surface board, attaching and presenting your Elkhorn plant. 

What's included:
- 2 hours tuition with our plant expert Claire Greenhill
- Use of the Stackwood event space, with workshop pre-set for you
- Tools and materials for you to make your mounted elkhorn
- Your plant and completed backing to take home!

Class cost: 5 - 9 people $160 per person, 10 - 14 people $89 per person, 15+ $69 per person

Basket Weaving

Explore the ancient craft of basket weaving and take home your own functional work of art made of ethically sourced raffia and natural fibres. Weaving is a wonderfully meditative practice that allows you to unplug, slow down and craft something with your own hands.

What's included:
- 3 hours tuition with master weaver Sian Boucherd
- Use of the Stackwood event space, with workshop pre-set for you
- Tools and materials for you to make your woven basket
- Your creation and the know-how to keep going at home. 

Class cost: up to 5 people $180 per person, up to 9 people $115 per person. This class has a 9 person max. 

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I bring my own food and drink?

Yes, our private workshops do not include catering. You can bring your own food and drinks with you. Workshoppers can make use of our fridge and prep space but please be aware we do not have cooking facilities. You may borrow glassware, cutlery, urns, water jugs and crockery on request. 
All food stuffs must be cleaned and removed from the venue post-workshop by you. Well do the rest of your pack down.

Do I have to clean up after the workshop?

No, remove your food stuffs and we will do the rest. 

Can I stay after the workshop for drinks and chats, or come early?

Yes, you can. Time before or after the workshop is charged out at our usual venue fee of $50 per hour. This can be arranged on request. Please request this when you book as our space gets very busy.

If your class is during business hours (9am - 4pm, 7 days) there is always the cafe space and plant store for you to explore before or after your workshop. 

Can I book a different class or facilitator that isn't listed above?

We'll do our best! Email us and we can see what we can do. 

Is my booking refundable if I want to cancel? 

Our calendar is very busy and so are our facilitators. When you book your workshop you'll be asked to pay in full upfront. If there are cancellations there will be no refund.

What if I want to change date?

If you want to change date we'll do our best to re-accomodate you. If you want to make any changes to your booking you need to give us 2 - 4 weeks notice. Remember the venue is very busy, especially on weekends!
