Stackwood is an exciting new creative venue and concept store in Fremantle. Housed in a former diesel workshop, the Stackwood community encompasses maker’s studios, an event space and a concept store.
Our mission is a simple one: to encourage a more wholesome way of living.
Let’s meet our neighbours and share a nourishing meal. Let’s learn new (in fact, old) skills like propagating, crafting, cooking and making. Let’s invest in useful products that are good for us and good for our environment.
Makers and creative businesses are an essential part of the Stackwood community. We currently have seven creative businesses in residence at Stackwood: Hubble + Duke, The Little Posy Co., Lyndley Mill, See-d-esign, Tiny Print Press, Sally Mundy Artist, Peas in a Pod and Winterwares.
Keeping it local
We believe strongly in the value of supporting local producers, makers and service providers. Stackwood is a part of a vibrant and creative community and in our experience, great opportunities arise from local relationships.
We also foster community by offering space for meetings and gatherings and hosting free community events like our seasonal food swaps.
Learning and growing
Our workshop offering is a really important part of what drives us at Stackwood. When you learn a skill you are making an investment. That new skill has quite a different value to a purchased product. You know the old saying ‘Teach a man to fish…’ Learning to make or do something also slows us down, encouraging a more mindful way of living.
The Stackwood project is by no means complete. We’re planning more community events, a productive garden and many other exciting projects. Keep up with all our news and events on our Community page.
