Embroidery Basics with Carla Adams

$149.00

Join local artist Carla Adams to learn the basics of hand embroidery. In this workshop you'll create a sampler of different stitch techniques and start on a project of your own. This could be an idea that you've already pre-prepared or something you can concept along with Carla during the session.

You'll learn the ins and outs of embroidery and finish off your designs using fun curated objects from Carla's personal collection such as shells, pearls and gems.

You are welcome to bring along a t-shirt, jacket, tote bag or item of your choice to embroider onto, a great way to upcycle something you've at home. Or you can work on our test fabric suitable to create a small wall hanging or detail with.

If you would like to bring your own item to work with, please ensure it's a sturdy fabric like denim or linen, anything with stretch is not for beginners.

Each participant will receive a DIY embroidery kit including everything you need to keep going with your new hobby at home.

All tools, materials and light morning tea will be provided. There are no previous skills required, simply bring your authentic self.
