How to 'Made Local Market' like a pro
The Made Local Market is our favourite event of the season and we want it to be yours too. Here are a few top tips on navigating the market.
Get down early
If you want to avoid the crowds get down when the market kicks off at 3pm Friday to give yourself the best chance of having a quiet stroll through. Getting first pick of our makers products isn't bad either! Opening times are 3pm - 9pm on Friday and 9am - 4pm on Saturday & Sunday.
Bring cash
All our vendors have credit card facilities but you might struggle if you are AMEX only. You will need $2 cash entry for the door if you are an adult (kids free) and if you are a kid you might need $5 - $10 cash for kids activities (by donation to our artists).
Park at Booyeembara
There is parking at the front of Stackwood and on the adjacent streets. Please make sure you are not parking on or across driveways (they can be trickier to spot in the industrial area) - we love our neighbours and hope they continue to love us!
There is overflow at Booyeembara Park which is our pick of parking.
Pack away your raincoat
We are mostly undercover with some food options only outside, so you won't need to worry about the weather. We have marquees and heaters, plus our fireplace, and are fully equipped for Winter. The forecast is fine and sunny at the moment so it's likely you'll be able to enjoy the sun in our yard!
Don't miss the music session
Ribs will be playing a great little music session for us on Friday night at 6:30pm. It's a chance for us to celebrate the local music scene. The bar will be open for this session plus 3pm - 9pm on Friday (only!)
Grab a scoop and some Winter eats
We have so many food options available for the market including for people who are gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian and vegan.
Comida do Sul join us on Friday night with their signature Brazillian Street Eats as well as Bean Eatin' serving up delicious vegan food. On Saturday Bantastic Mi will join the party with bao, noodles and other treats, and Bean Eatin will be back. There will be coffee by Stacked Cafe all weekend and Kuld Creamery serving up some of the best ice cream in town from 11am each day - we heard a rumour about chocolate fudge!
Support local
We save all our present buying up until market weekend so we make sure we are supporting local as much as we can. It's a way to support the local economy and to ensure makers in our community can continue to do what they do. We also have vendors with bread, flowers, pantry staples and more at the market so stock up!
Bring your pupper
Well behaved dogs are allowed in the warehouse, plus we have some sweet accessories for purchase this year by All Ears Pet Gear.
Wheelchair accessibility
Unfortunately, we aren't universally accessible yet, although are working towards this. Entry is possible for wheelchairs but there are no accessible toilets. We know this sucks and are putting in place a plan to remedy this!
