Following our first swap event which attracted a cornucopia of goods, people and great community vibes, we are again hosting a swap this coming October.
Do you have a prolific lemon tree? Too many zucchinis? Make your own worm juice? Bring your excess homegrown produce to swap this October!
The swap kicks off at 10:00am, with a talk at 11:00am from Robert Peters of Freo Food, a project that aims to revolutionise how we engage with food by building connections with producers and each other.
Stacked Cafe will be open, serving up delicious coffee and snacks from 7am.
What is a food swap?
A food swap is a community gathering where people swap their excess homegrown produce. Items like fruit and vegetables, herbs, eggs, seeds and worm juice are welcome. You may even swap produce for gardening tips or recipes!
How does it work?
Food swaps are money free exchanges and operate as an honesty system. The concept is simple; swappers supply their own produce and then ‘shop’ from the selection of goods provided by others.
